My process with this was i really wanted to do something underwater and i liked that jellyfish have all those little string things and that i could make them different colors so the jellyfish is what i went with. I started with a blue background as water and i made it darker at the bottom to represent how the ocean gets darker as you go down. For the top part of the jellyfish i didnt want to make it just one color and i really wanted my painting to be different so i made it kind of ombre for the bigger jellyfish and added pink in some parts and white to represent the sun hitting the jellyfish so it makes a highlight. The blending for this was actually really easy i just had to use lots of brushes so other colors wouldnt get mixed in. For the smaller jellyfish i also made it sorta ombre, then i added reds and also more white for highlights. For the string things it was actaully very easy because ill i had to do was paint lines, i added some white, pink and orange onto them so they look more unique. Since i wanted this paintning to be different, i made pink bubbles with orange on them and white bubbles with blue on them. Since i didnt want just the jellyfish i added sort of a border with burgundy and orange. I really liked how this came out .
What i like about this is, the blending on the top of the jellyfish, i think i did a good job with it and how i added highlights and shadows. The reason why it looks sloppy is because that how jellyfish are, i made the colors go all over the place and i like how it looks. Something i could have done better one is the outside and whats around the jelllyfish, i could have put plants or fish aound it but i really wanted t finsh the painting.

About MeMy name is Olivia Rebolloso and i attend Ms. Sudkamp’s art class at Apex High School. I am 15 years old and i previously went to Apex Middle School and I was in a pottery/sculpture class. I really enjoy making art and painting is one of my favorite things, I always made paintings when I was little and I always knew I wanted to do it and when I was older. I love visiting art museums and seeing the history of paintings and sculptures by famous artists made hundreds of years ago. I think art is a very good way to express feelings and emotions and it can be used many ways.
In this picture is my best friends and I at formal in middle schools. They are some of my biggest supporters and I really appreciate them and how much we all encourage eachother with school.
My friends and I have a makeup account on Instagram. Where we post videos and pictures of us doing tutorials and eyeshadow looks and I think makeup is just like art because it’s how people express themselves and it has been used for hundreds of years. I remember I would come to class in elementary school with bright red lipstick on because I expressed myself that way and because I loved the color red. I think eyeshadow is very similar to drawing and painting for many reasons like, it involves lots of different colors and different types of eyeshadow with diffferent levels of pigmentation. Just like you have to switch out your drawing pencils, you have to switch out brushes because there are many different kinds of brushes for the different types of makeup. Blending brushes for eyeshadow usually are very fluffy and light so you blend out the harsh lines. I love using makeup and it’s one of my favorite hobbies.
